Lean Business Plan

What is a Lean Business Plan?  It’s a one page summary business plan.  They are great for startups, traditional businesses and service professionals.

Rather than a traditionally long business plan, it’s a bullet points summary of strategy and competitive analysis.  Its useful to focus your team, work out broad themes and focus on your businesses direction.

Mission, Strategy, Competitive Edge, and high level financial projections should all be included.  Pages of description should not be included.

Lean Business plans can also be used as an outline of a formal 30 page business plan.  You might even consider it a first step to starting a plan.

An advantage is that it can be easily changed or updated as the business grows.  It does give your management team focus and opens the debate up to what is happening a rapidly expanding company.
